Tiny

Flora was quite a stubborn girl in school, she was short and really slim which earned her the nickname "Tiny"

Her stature often deceived people into thinking that Tiny was a push over. She always looked frail and tired all the time that whenever she spoke, people had to look around in search of the person who had just spoken.

She was not a trouble maker but was an expert in extending trouble if it came her way. For this her seniors in school called her "Elastic"

Flora was hard to predict, some days she sat quietly all through the day and hardly said a word to anyone and even when questions where thrown at her by her teachers, she would not utter a word.

Other days, she made so much noise and could even be sent out of class for distracting other students.

She was a rare being and this fact was established at a particular period in her school when the most popular bully in school was given the lesson of her life by Tiny.

Ife was a senior student and on one of those days after exams that the students had little to do in school, Ife called a junior student and asked her to dance while she watched with her friends; this particular junior student had a bad leg from polio and dancing was obviously not one of her strong points.

Tiny who happened to be around the classroom area where this humiliation was about to take place, quietly walked into the whole drama took the junior girl by her wrist and made to leave the circle.

She had barely taken two steps when a slap from Ife landed on her right cheek. She was unperturbed, she still pulled the younger student out of that whole caricature all the way to the hostel.

It was five in the morning and Ife thought she was having a bad dream when she was suddenly drenched in very cold water in the peak of the Harmattan season.

Tiny poured a bucket of cold water that she had left outside overnight in an iron bucket. It was freezing cold. It didn't end there, she followed up with many rounds of slaps until she was lifted off the terrified young lady by other seniors. No one had witnessed such a scene before and she left her fellow students in shock.
